Ouachita Blackberry is a thornless, floricane fruiting, erect blackberry suited for the fresh market. It has medium fruit, averaging 6-6.5 grams/berry. It has very good flavor, with soluble solids averaging 10.5%. Ouachita has consistently high yields, exceeding Apache, Navaho, and Arapaho. Harvest begins approximately June 12 at Clarksville, Arkansas, and continues for five weeks. Fruit storage and shipping potential is near or equal to Navaho. Chilling requirement is likely 400-500 hours.
