Navaho blackberry is a thornless, foricane fruiting, erect blackberry suited for the fresh market. It has medium fruit, averaging 5 grams/berry. It’s the sweetest of the Arkansas thornless cultivars, with soluble solids averaging 11.5%. Yields are good, usually higher than Arapaho. Begins ripening around June 15 in Clarksville, Arkansas, and fruiting extends five to six weeks. Fruit is also very firm, so storage and shipping potential is exceptional. Chilling requirement estimated to be 800-900 hours.
