Our Harvest Season has come to an end. Thank you to all of our dedicated employees for all of your hard work this season. We really hope to see you all agian next year! Please remember that Registrations will start in August 2012.

Tayberry plant is a hybrid between raspberry and blackberry, but is generally thought of as a type of blackberry, given its fruit characteristics.  Fruit is large, long, conical, with good flavor, deep to purplish red in color.  Yields are moderate.

• Developed in 1881 by Judge James Logan in Santa Cruz, Calif.
• Exact parentage unknown, but is a cross between R. ideas (red raspberry) and R. ursinus (wild blackberry)

Logan is a hybrid between red raspberry and blackberry.  Fruit are reddish-purple, long, and conical.  Flavor is intense, tart.  Trailing growth habit.  Generally thought of as a type of blackberry, given its fruit characteristics and growth habit.

• Exact parentage unknown, but believed to be Logan (R. ideas crossed with R. ursinus) crossed with Eastern dewberry

Boysen is a hybrid between red raspberry and blackberry, but the exact parentage is not known.  Generally thought of as a type of blackberry, given its fruit characteristics.  Fruit are large, soft, dark purple and covered with a dusty bloom.  Flavor is very good, unique.  Trailing growth habit.  High yields.

Prime-Ark®45 Blackberry is a thorny, primocane fruiting, erect blackberry suited for the fresh market.  It has medium-large fruit, averaging 6+ grams/fruit.  Primocane fruit are much larger in Oregon and California (7-9 grams) and smaller in Arkansas (4-5 grams).  Flavor is much improved compared to previous primocane-fruiting cultivars, with soluble solids averaging 10-11%, and reaching 12%.  Yield is very good; floricane yields compare to other Arkansas floricane-fruiting cultivars, and primocane yields are higher than those of Prime-Jim®.  Floricane harvest begins June 9 and primocane harvest begins August 8 in Clarksville, Arkansas.  Primocane fruit begins to ripen in late August in California and mid September in Oregon.  Summer temperatures above 85^oF can reduce fruit set and quality on primocanes.

Tupy Blackberry is a thorny, floricane fruiting, erect blackberry suited for the fresh market.  It is particularly popular in the low-chill production areas of Mexico and should perform well in low-chill areas of the US.  It has medium-large fruit, averaging 7-9 grams/berry.   Flavor is somewhat similar to that of cultivars developed in Arkansas.
